I bought this on a whim; it was hot and humid.. too muggy to do anything..even pack up to go down the street to the beach, I just wanted to float in a cool pool. So, I went online to amazon; found it in stock; it was delivered within a few days (less than a week). The most important thing to know and prepare for is a LEVEL area, not just, "oh it looks flat", it MUST be level. Luckily my husband is in excavating and has a mini-backhoe and tools to move around the dirt to level the area. The flat area was level in no time. Pool took about a day to fill with one hose. But was so worth it. The kit comes with everything you need, a tarp to go under the pool, a cover, the ladder, etc... (just not much info. on how to use chemicals and which ones.. I will switch to the saltwater filter next summer). I lounged on my blow up raft for many days, read books...it was awesome. Then my niece and nephews visited and the pool quickly turned into their entertainment for the long weekend. They loved in the morning, noon, and night! It is well worth it.. the chemical, cleaning thing I am just learning.. If you want one .. get it! Now that the summer company is gone; it is now back to lounging in the pool!

I read many reviews on these intex pumps, and the problem that seems to plague them is a cheaply made plastic impeller that moves (pumps) the water. So listen up folks... if you buy a replacement pump, or even buy a pool set for the first time, BEFORE you even use the pump for the first time, take it apart until you can remove the impeller. This is pretty simple requiring only about 4 or 5 screws be removed... just make sure you pay attention to how it comes apart (especially the washers around the impeller). Then go down to walmart, home depot, lowes, or any auto parts store and buy some EPOXY. This should be two different liquids (or gels) that come in two different tubes that you must mix together. This stuff is SUPER STRONG, and most are rated for 2,500 to 3,500 lbs per square inch of strength... like steel almost. So what your going to do is get a small paint brush, and "paint" the impeller with epoxy, making a SUPER STRONG coat over the cheap plastic. Just make sure you don't get any on the inside of the hole in the center of the impeller where it slides onto the metal rod. Allow it 24 hours to dry (depending on what type of epoxy you use), and then reassemble the pump. I guarantee this will save you money and headaches in the long run. Also if any other plastic parts break on the pump, you can use this epoxy to fix/repair/strengthen them as well.

We love our pool although we only had it set up for a week when we realized the air ring wasn't holding air. We called Intex and they were great. We are getting a replacement pool any day now and we can't wait. It is a great way to cool off at the end of the day and we float around on our noodles. I'm sure the whole leaky ring thing was a fluke and when we get our new pool, we will be very satisfied.
